I'm surprised that no one mentioned any of Margaret Barker's books, particularly The Great High Priest. Although not necessarily scholarly as such, I really enjoy Brian McLaren's take on Christianity also.

My mission president actually didn't care what I read (or, at least he knew that I was reading a lot of other literature, including learning ancient Greek) as long as I didn't promote such activity among other missionaries.

Chris H, you are welcome and it was fun to do.

All, We got included in Ken Brown's master list. He lists by author in alphabetical order if you want to find yourself. He follows the trackbacks and then edits his original post to include more bloggers as he gets them. So it other FPR bloggers want to do this you can either add to this list (and Ken Brown won't include you because he won't know about you) or we can start a new post and the new trackback should alert him to the new information.

Yellow Dart,

When did Ehrman get added to the "Missionary Library"?

David,

Thanks for putting this together. I look forward to checking some of these out. I also feel these lists give me some further insight into where the FPR brain trust is coming from.

I would be interested in seeing Mogget's list.
