He was a delight. I asked him about ancient perspectives regarding creation ex nihilo. As I understand it, the theme of creation and chaotic waters tends to favor creation ex materia, but both traditions survived even into Rabbinical Judaism. Still, as long as we are chalking up points for the antiquity of some doctrines...I thought this might be worth a mention. I had a Rabbi years ago tell me that he believed YHWH gave the two H's in his name to Abram and Sara, when making His covenant with them and giving them new names. IOW, YHWH endowed them with a portion of His divinity. Interesting insights.
